one thing is the females belly will turn really red next the male will clean out a cave or something. you have to have a cave a pot is always goo but a new pot not a old one. next the male will show of and entice the female into the cave. the female will lay the eggs and the male will fertilize them. both parents look out for the fry.

the way to tell if it is male or female
male: longer fins no red belly
female:short edges on fins and belly will turn red
