Taylor G asked:

Ok, so i have a wireless internet connection. And my laptop completely crashed, luckily my mom figured out how to reinstall vista. But now we have the problem of connecting it to the internet again.

I have no clue how to get the internet connection to show up on my laptop again!! if anyone could help, i’d greatly appreciate it!

make sure your wireless adapter is on. Vista should search for any wireless connections available automatically. if not, click on the little two-monitor icon on the bottom right of the screen & go to ‘connect to a wireless network’ or something similar. Then find your wireless & connect.

    Hope this helps!

Look in the lower right hand corner of the sceen near the clock. There should be a little icon that looks like two computer screens with a red “x” over it. Right click the icon and go co “connect to a network”.

Click on your network and click connect. It will then probably ask for a passcode if your network is secure. This will depend on your personal settings.

You will need to go to Start> Control Panel> Network Connections and then double click your wireless connection (i.e. How your PC connects to your router – usually something like Wireless Network Connection 1) if the little computer icon is not showing. Then click View Wireless Networks and you should be complete.

However, if you don’t have the driver installed for your wireless connector, it’s a whole different story. You will need to find the driver disc, and install it first before then following the above steps.
