Software.
csverhul asked: I want to compress movies to under 1GB. The movies people download from torrent sites are very good quality and are usually only 700-800 mb. How do I do that with the programs I have:
Cucusoft Ultimate DVD+Video Suite
Divx Codec Pro
Divx Converter Pro
convert them into mp4 format.
You don’t compress them you rip them like you would do a CD
You use handbrake to rip them to H.264 – Blueray
These files are already compressed to begin with. Nothing short of clipping out some video is gonna work.
Here is a step by step guide to rip DVD and convert any videos to other video formats and audio formats for iPod touch/classic/video/nano, iPhone, Zune, PSP, video capable MP3 players, etc. Meanwhile, it can also support output almost any audio/video format including Video format (H264, MP4, WMV, AVI, MOV, RM, 3GP, flv, SWF, mpeg-1, mpeg-2, VCD, SVCD, DVD, etc.) and Audio format (AC3, AAC, MP2, MP3, MP4, RA, WMA, etc.). It is easy-to-use and the converting speed is fast!
There is a step-by-step guide which will show you how to use the DVD Ripper for Mac to rip general DVD (copy-protected included) on Mac OS X (Leopard Supported).
