how to get the point back with Chinese paint brushes ?

how to
Blood Red asked:

I’ve used the brushes a couple of times and now the points on the bristles are gone. How do I get the point back? And they are the cheep ones too I don’t have enough money to buy the really nice ones. I even hang them upside down.

You can try using a small amount of liquid dish soap to make a sizing and help them keep their form. When you are using the brush try turning it on the palate and forming the shape you want before you start painting.

Hanging the brushes upside down is always good to help them dry quicker but doesn’t have anything to do with helping them keep their shape necessarily.

You don’t have to go straight for the big guns. Get a decent mid range brush. You may only be spending $5 at a time on the cheapo but you’re paying more in the end because they wear out so quickly.
