How to teach my son to hold his stick better?

how to
Dave H asked:

I have a 6 year old who skates and stick handles but has a bad habit of holding is stick with one hand and letting it drag behind him when skating forward. Any ideas how to help with this issue?

set up a drill where there are a cones in front of him and he/she has to keep their stick in front of them

put some king of heavy ring on his stick. so when he skates if he trys to drag it it will be hard. Sooner or later he will hold it with two hands.. it works.

I play in a roller hockey team and I remember that when I was little my coach would make us do sprints because that was his pet-peeve. That’s how we learned. Hopefully your not as hard on him but put some pressure on him, it works. He won’t even notice the change.

put tape were he should hold his stick and tell him that’s were he should hold it
