How to upload a Sitemap to our main directory?

how to
DG asked:

Hi, We have created a sitemap.xml from a generator but now need to upload it to the main directory on the server for your website. We are not techies and have no clue how but also have no one to do it for us currently, so here we are. Is there anyone who can give us detailed instructions or place to learn how – or is this too advanced and requires a web designer type person? Thanks in advance

Well, as far as I know, the sitemap needs to be included in the actual web project or solution – the collection of pages and classes that makes up the website. In short, yes – this is something that would best be done by a web developer.

Now, I do not claim to be the “know all”, so there may be some way to link to it externally, but I don’t think there is. In my web projects, the file is added as a ‘web.sitempap’ xml file and icluding in the compilation of the site before it is published.

Not sure if this helps, but i hope so. Good luck : )
